Il protagonista Will Salas, vive insieme alla madre Olivia, nel ghetto, gli succedono due episodi che

cambiano per sempre la sua vita. Un ricco, prima di suicidarsi, gli regala un secolo di vita e la madre

muore perché Will arriva pochi secondi in ritardo e non riesce a ricaricare la sua scorta di tempo. A

questo punto il protagonista fa una scelta, decide di sovvertire l’ordine della società in cui vive,

donando più tempo a coloro che non possono permettersi di comprarlo.
